All-mountain riding in Costa Rica

Join us on our favorite winter mountain bike holiday as we head south to the tropics. Arrive in sultry San Jose and be enamored by the culture and blown away by the shuttle assisted all-mountain riding. Ride exciting technical singletrack from the highest peaks in the country with the very best local guides and sip a cold beer at the end of the day with new friends. Translated into English, pura vida simply means pure life. Join us and see why.


Day 1: Arrive, check in & unpack the bikes

Arrive in San Jose and be greeted by your Big Mountain guides. Transfer to our hotel to build our bikes.

Day 2: Transfer and climb

Transfer out of the city to our first appointment: short punchy climb followed by a long, epic, flowing descent.

Day 3: Rainforest Riding

Short shuttle to the trailhead and another great day of singletrack riding under a lush rainforest.

Day 4: Repeat

After breakfast, shuttle to the trailhead for another great day of enduro style singletrack.

Day 5: Repeat

A short shuttle to the riding zone for more enduro style epic riding.

Day 6: Repeat

Short shuttle to the trailhead and another great day of singletrack in the rainforest. Afternoon cerveza!

Day 7: Last ride of trip with farewell night out

Back to San Jose and stop for a quick shuttle on route. Celebrate our awesome trip tonight!

Day 8: Airport drop off’s

Your guides will drop you off at the airport for your flight home. Adios amigos!

Skill Levels

Each trip’s ability level is the minimum level required for that trip.


Level 3

Exercise 3-4 times a week for 40 minutes are more. Are comfortable with sustained challenging pace including long periods of anaerobic exercise. Can climb for hours, ride 6+ hours a day for over 4 consecutive days with some technical hike-a-bike.


Level 4

Have been mountain biking for over five years, can ride very technical trails and including jumps, drops and narrow elevated trail sections. Can ride confidently with exposure.
